Rivet Gun Records has recently moved from a more traditional label approach to embrace the technological age of distribution. We've all been stung by having 1,000 copies of your new EP pressed up, only to find 950 of them still boxed up in the garage 5 years later, so we wanted to find a way of getting our music out to people more easily.
In the age of digital distribution we can now offer our music in a variety of formats for instant download. We do still have physical media produced for promotional purposes and to sell at events, but the bulk of our releases are available through the website in various formats with artwork and liner notes included.
We also tie-in with other online distributors such as CD Baby, Napster, Amazon, iTunes, Last.fm and have streams on Flickr.
Digital downloads from this site are generally free, though we do encourage you to make a small donation to the artist. Where they are available, physical media versions are priced as cheap as we can to cover their manufacture and postage, with minimal margin on top. Prices from our digital partners will vary, some carry a fee and some are free.
Rivet Gun Records has its own recording arm, known as Left Ear Sound. We've worked with many artists locally, not only Junkie Brush, Drunkenstein and Tie Your Shoes... but also Mary's Garden, Dial F For Frankenstein, The Crushing, The Evenings, 13Gauge, Dan Miles, Beaver Fuel and many more.
Since 2010 Left Ear Sound has been recording and producing the MusicInOxford.co.uk Sessions and has recorded Laima Bite, Samuel Zasada, King of Cats and others.
Left Ear Sound works in conjunction with Warehouse Studios for our facility-based recordings, but also have a mobile rig for location recordings. We can work anywhere and can quote you a price for just about anything.
We also provide live sound engineers and can arrange PA and equipment hire in conjunction with Flash Harry PA's. Drop us a line for a quote.
