JB at Wittstock

Junkie Brush will be playing Wittstock Festival this coming weekend. It's a full 3 days of music, we'll be playing on Friday night, the 4th May, at about 9.30pm with Ian Staples, Domes of Silence, Class Dismissed, Seelfie and Mark Allen Barnes. There's tons of other great bands featured over the weekend, head down and check as many of the out as possible.

JB will NOT be at the Skittle Alley Weekender this Saturday

Anyone expecting to see us at the Skittle Alley Weekender this Saturday should revise their plans. We've pulled out of the event and will not be playing. There's still some good bands playing that are worth checking out - Komrad on the Saturday evening, Daisy E and the Unsteadies on Friday night - but frankly we didn't really think that shouting "fuck" repeatedly at a bunch of kids at 2pm in the afternoon did much for our career prospects. Someone didn't think that one through very well.

JB in London for Malicious Damage

That's right, the Brush are hitting up the Bull & Gate in London for the Malicious Damage launch night of the new Vertical Smile album. We'll be kicking off the night, swiftly followed by those massive bastards Headcount before VS finish everyone off in style. Details to follow, we should be running the Junkie Bus to get some of you hapless losers down there.

JB @ The Bully for Skeletor

We're playing the Bully in Oxford on the 5th May for the excellent Skeletor Promotions. Undersmile are on the bill, along with a couple of others, so should be a good gig.

The Brush hit up Portsmouth

First up, thanks to everyone who came to the O2 Academy gig - it was a fantastic night, great to see so many people out showing their love for local music. We've got some Pictures up, go check em out. If you want to share you pics of the gig with us, head over to the Facebook group and put em up.

Next up we're hitting Portsmouth on Thursday March 17th with our good friends Undersmile and local Portsmouth band Subdued. It's all happening at the Fat Fox in Southsea, doors are £3 from 8.30pm onwards.

Junkie Brush at the O2 Academy Oxford

That's right, we're stoked to be supporting Senses Fail and Man Overboard, a pair of US post-hardcore bands who are doing a joint UK tour of the O2 Academies. Also playing are Crysis who are a great local metal band. It's on Saturday 26th February, and we have advance tickets available for £5 if you drop us a line (it's £10 on the door). Facebook details HERE.

We've also got a gig at the Wheatsheaf in Oxford on the 11th Feb with Small Machine and Eleros. Check the livenoise page for details.

New videos up on YouTube

Courtesy of Mr Johnny Moto, we now have a couple of videos up on YouTube. One is a short section of "Sickening", the other is "You are a Target" in full, both recorded at the Wheatsheaf on the 11th Feb 2011.

New Year's Eve "Your Song" 2010

We're very excited to be playing this year's NYE "Your Song" at the O2 Academy gig alongside AGNESS PIKE, THE BRAINDEAD COLLECTIVE, BLACK POWDER, CHAMBERS OF THE HEART, THE MAZARATI and THE PROHIBITION SMOKERS CLUB. Doors are 8pm, tickets are £10 and get you in for the whole night. We'll also be giving away copies of our MusicinOxford.co.uk Session for free. See you there!

Gig at the Wheatsheaf, MIO.co.uk Session

Two exciting bits of news - firstly we're playing the Wheatsheaf in Oxford on Saturday the 20th November with our goodfriends Beelzebozo, plus Caravan of Whores and The Fierce. Sure to be a vicious night. We're also featuring on the local music site MusicInOxford.co.uk after doing a "live in the studio" Session for them. Should be online very shortly if it isn't already!

Gig in Reading

That's right, the Brush are hitting Reading to scare some locals. Thursday 30th September we're headlining the Rising Sun pub, up near the station, with a couple of bands in support. See you there.

New reviews online

A couple of reviews of the new CD "What You See, What You Hear" are online now, and mighty fine they are too. First up, David Murphy from MusicInOxford.co.uk thinks we sound like "the clinical autopsy hardcore of Black Flag", and that this is possibly the best set of tracks we've put on record yet: MusicInOxford.co.uk review.

The September issue of Nightshift on the other hand says "Bedwetting cry-babies who think punk rock is all about sports gear endorsements and branded tours should be cuffed to the nearest radiator and forced to listen to Junkie Brush’s new EP at obscene volume until their ickle noses bleed and snot comes out of their eyes." We like that too.

The CD is now beginning to appear on various websites to buy in digital form as well. It's just hit Amazon and should be up on Napster, iTunes etc soon.

"What You See..." now on CDBaby.com

Yes indeedy, you can now buy the new CD, "What You See, What You Hear", from CDBaby.com. Just click here and download away. It'll be up on Napster, iTunes, Amazon etc soon.

New CD ready to go!

Finally, after fucking ages of dicking around, we've finally finished up the new CD. "What You See, What You Hear" is ready for release, and we're launching it with a gig on the 21st August at the Wheatsheaf, Oxford. The CD will be available in physical & digital formats, from us directly (via Rivet Gun Records) or from Amazon, Napster, iTunes etc. More details soon on that front.

New Rivet Gun Records Website

Rivet Gun Records, the indie label run by Junkie Brush, has finally been made over and is now up and running with a shiny new store.

All Junkie Brush releases that are still in print are available through the Rivet Gun Records website, along with t-shirts and stuff from the other bands signed to the label. Head over and grab yourself some fancy merch right now: http://www.rivetgunrecords.co.uk

New gig lined up

We've been asked by On A Thursday promotions to play at the Port Mahon on Thursday 25th March with Riothouse and Beaver Fuel. Doors from 7.30pm, we're on first so head down early.
